In the northern part of the Marais district, where the studios of artisans and upscale boutiques coexist, the pink exterior of one building stands out on Rue Charlot. Peeking in through the window you will see rows of bags that all seem like quintessential Paris fashion, and you’ll immediately get drawn inside the store. That’s how I came to know about Pauline Pin. As there are some select shops in Japan that deal in these bags, you may already be aware of the name.
Pauline Pin’s studio/boutique was opened in September of 2004. Back in the corner of the shop is her studio corner, where new creations are steadily born from the sewing machines. You'll find smoky-colored, high quality leather bags that will tickle the little girl's heart within you (€75 and up), accessories (€39 and up), and oil cloth bags with bold designs (€17 and up). These bags are charming not just because of their design, but also because of their extraordinary functionality. They’re the kind of bag that, as soon as you pick one up and put it on, you’ll feel like you’ve truly completed a Parisian outfit.
